Description of the banner photo above: During 2020 and 2021 Lamin Sonko, the community interpreter we fund, has been voluntarily creating video updates in GSL (Gambian Sign Language) to share with Deaf Gambians about Coronavirus and lockdown. His work on this was recognised by QTV, and he won the Gambian Youth of the month award. Click here to watch the video on YouTube. (Lamin is both interpreting and being interviewed).
The Gambian Deaf Children Support Project (GDCSP). GDCSP processed our donations. They, like us, are a smaller charity and also work with deaf children and adults in Gambia. They have charitable status for tax purposes and are registered for Gift Aid (Ref: XT21686).
African Federation of Sign Language Interpreters. Hosting their inaugural conference May 2017. Our project supported three Gambian interpreters to attend.
Giving Up A Days Pay (GUADP). The ASLI fundraising arm to support interpreter colleagues overseas with the development of interpreting skills and knowledge.
